Sarasota, FL – Eight teams have qualified for America’s Cup, which will take place at The Pad in Sarasota on January 17-19, 2025. This event will bring together teams to compete for the title of best padel club team in the U.S. and Canada.
The America’s Cup is the culmination of the Padel Club League (PCL) season, an interclub team padel competition in partnership with the United States Padel Association (USPA) which featured 26 teams. The finalists are: Net, Padel39, Padel X, PATL, Real Padel, Sports Haus, Taktika San Diego, Tempo. As the America’s Cup approaches, participating teams have shared their excitement and determination to bring their A-game to Sarasota.
Net – Farmers Branch, TX: “If we play hard and have a little bit of luck, we are going to be able to take the cup back to Dallas. All of us like to compete and we always bring out the best in each other at every tournament.” – Carlos Garcia
Padel39 – Austin, TX: “We’ve built great momentum leading up to this moment. We have a strong, united team with incredible talent, dedication, and a passion for the game. We know what it takes to perform at the highest level, and we’re coming in fully prepared and confident. It’s inspiring to see how much this sport brings people together, and I’m more motivated than ever to keep pushing boundaries and growing the game.” – Rodrigo Banzer
Padel X – Miami, FL: “We are coming to Sarasota to try to win. We have a few experienced players mixed with some younger athletic players. Hopefully the right combination to take home the trophy. I’m looking forward to traveling with all the players. It will reinforce the cohesion in the team and definitely create some memorable moments for all of us.” – Nalle Grinda
PATL – Atlanta, GA: “We are traveling a far way for this event and bringing some good talent. We wouldn’t do that if we didn’t believe. We have been able to get a fair bit of practice in with our teams and the cohesiveness is very helpful. To see all of the development across the US and representation from the whole country is amazing.” – Andrew Herring
Real Padel – Miami, FL: “We are feeling great and are excited to compete against the best clubs in the U.S. I’m confident we can win it because we have great players that, in every match, work hard for the same goal of giving the team the W. I find this format really good for the sport because usually it’s only you and your partner. But this time you have to support and cheer the whole team because all matches matter regardless of the level.” – Tarek Deham
Taktika – San Diego, CA: “Our captain, Alasdair Owers-Bradley, did a great job putting together a team that trains and competes together often, which seemed to make a difference in our result. We feel very strongly that if we can bring our top players and have the right matchups anything is possible. The experience in the PCL has definitely driven our shared passion for growing the sport of padel.” – Ryan Redondo
The Sports Haus – Norwalk, CT: “We are currently practicing twice a week to get ready for the event. I believe we can win. We have all played tennis and platform tennis at a high level and we are getting decent at padel. Our team is very deep. This journey has deepened my love for padel. The camaraderie with my teammates, the thrill of competition, and the constant drive to improve have been incredibly inspiring.” – Juan Arraya
Tempo – Houston, TX: “Tempo is super excited for the opportunity to go and compete at the AC25. We have a group of guys that have dedication to the sport and are passionate about it. We will go and compete and try our best to win. It will be amazing to share this moment with a group of guys that love the same sport as I do and we all keep growing the sport.” – Jerry Hazel
